Construction commences on Emporio Stage Two

26 September, 2013

Emporio Stage One is undoubtedly a hard act to follow.

But over the next few months, Reed Property Group and builder RCQ Construction will attempt to out-do themselves as they roll out construction on Stage Two of the mixed-use development, after securing over 50 per cent in sales in a matter of months.

Reed Property Group Managing Director Ken Reed said with preliminary works having just been completed, he was excited to see the official launch of construction now taking place.

“The interest we’ve attracted since releasing Stage Two of Emporio to market earlier this year has been incredible and we certainly believe this reflects a change in sentiment around property on the Coast,” Mr Reed said.

“In the first seven days of going to market, we sold 18 apartments.  Now with over half the apartments snapped up, we’re starting construction with the aim of completion in June 2014.”

“It’s really rewarding to see shovel meet soil so quickly; it’s a testament to the quality product offering and buying power of investors.”

The commencement of construction coincides with a series of high-profile real estate experts such as Terry Ryder, Diana Howes and Michael Matusik all recently tipping strong growth in the region.

They all agree that major infrastructure projects such as the airport expansion, the new hospitals, the development at Horton Park and the Sunshine Plaza redevelopment put the Coast firmly on the property hotspot list.

Reed Property Group Sales and Marketing Manager Jason Kollanyi said the start of construction was a welcome milestone for the Maroochydore area.

“We are delighted to be driving the development of this vibrant precinct in the heart of the Coast’s CBD,” Mr Kollanyi said.

“The market bottomed out last year but has been buoyed by the positive sentiment since the start of the year.”

“The deals have been particularly sweet for investors looking for after-tax cash flow positive returns from year one.”

Stage Two of the development will include 82 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, incorporating dual-key options and more traditional configurations starting from $267,500.

Mr Kollanyi said the dual-key apartments in particular had proved very popular with investors.

“We’ve now completely sold out of dual-key apartments, just seven months after going to market,” Mr Kollanyi said.

All Stage Two apartments include designer kitchens with Smeg appliances and stone bench tops, with secure undercover car parking provided and many apartments with outdoor living space. They also feature fibre optic wiring, providing access to the National Broadband Network (NBN).

The Emporio development is located within short walking distance of Maroochydore and its many restaurants and shopping facilities, and residents can take advantage of Emporio’s gymnasium, heated lap pool and spa, gold class-style theatre,  podium level recreation terrace and leisure deck.
