Champion baristas brew new espresso bar in Caloundra
April 18, 2013
Two of Australia’s most awarded baristas, Tim Adams and James Pedrazzini, have opened Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar in Caloundra creating a new haven for coffee lovers and attracting coffee connoisseurs from across the Coast and beyond.
The new coffee Mecca is a winning combination of Mr Adam’s own blend of specialty coffee and the expertise that has seen him become the current AustralAsian Specialty Coffee Association Queensland Champion, a title he also held in 2009 and 2010; the 2009 Australian Barista Champion and being placed 13th at the World Championships in the US that same year.
The Caloundra local is the only Queenslander to take out the national prize, and is proud to offer up a world-class coffee right here on the Sunshine Coast in partnership with wife Katie and the 2010 GJC Australian Barista Champion , Mr Pedrazzini and his wife, Angela.
“We were constantly hearing feedback that a great coffee was hard to find in Caloundra, so the four of us got together and decided it was time to share our passion for coffee by offering them a world-class cup of coffee,” Mr Adams said.
“We’ve created a modern space where people can enjoy the laid-back Coast lifestyle with a great cup of coffee along with one of our brownies, caramel slices, lemon tarts or raspberry tarts which are already firm favourites with many of the locals fast becoming regulars at Lamkin Lane.”
The café, which is already scoring an impressive 9.3 after 16 reviews on beanhunter.com, is the newest addition to the Tim Adams Specialty Coffee brand offering, which also includes one of the Coast’s most popular mobile espresso bars as well as wholesale and retail specialty coffee.
Mr Adams said the Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar would become a new outlet for his seasonal blend of espresso coffee, which he takes great care in producing – following the process all the way from seed to cup.
“James and I both believe that the key to being a good barista is having a genuine interest in the whole coffee production process, not just the end product. We take great pleasure in educating customers on what’s involved and seeing their excitement as we release new blends as we take them on the journey with us,” he said.
“Our coffee is sourced ethically and responsibly from farmers who produce high grade specialty coffee and is roasted with current crop coffee, ensuring a quality, full-bodied flavour every time.”
For the coffee connoisseurs, there are four blends on offer at Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar. Customers can enjoy the Lamkin Lane house blend, which has been exclusively developed for the espresso bar or the Tim Adams Specialty Coffee Seasonal Blend which is currently offering Season 8. In addition there is a weekly rotation of two single-origin coffees which are from either a farm or micro-region in one particular country. And for those who would like to enjoy the taste of a Tim Adams blend at home, all blends are also available for purchase in 250g or 1kg bags.
Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar is located at 31 Lamkin Lane, Caloundra and is open Monday to Friday from 6am to 4pm, and from 7am to 12 noon on weekends. The Tim Adams Speciality Coffee seasonal espresso blend is available for purchase in store.
Some of you may know Tim from his mobile coffee van that regularly travels around the Maroochydore CBD.
