Tips from ‘The Gruen Transfer’ in local business women’s leadership program

October 11, 2011

If you are looking for a development program to assist you as a leader in your business and in the greater community, the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network has a limited number of places remaining in their 2011 Leadership Development Program with the first session commencing on Sunday October 23.

This leadership program is the first of its kind being offered to business women here on the Sunshine Coast and comprises a six-day program scheduled over three weekends to be held at the Crowne Plaza, Pelican Waters featuring The Gruen Transfer’s Carolyn Miller as the opening key-note speaker.

Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network program co-ordinator Nicole Sylvester, says that the leadership program has been created to foster and support local business women to build stronger business foundations and connections as our future business leaders.

“The aim of this exciting program is to enable women to walk away motivated and enthused by the opportunities available to them and their business in the current economic climate, with a clear project plan that will be implemented over the period of the program and beyond,” said Nicole.

“Participants will hear from renowned key-note speakers and lecturers who will provide their insights and expertise for this projects-based program enabling attendees to leave equipped with business tools and strategies to implement into their business for instant results.”

Carolyn Miller, a regular panellist on The Gruen Transfer and a recognised authority on creative persuasion, will be appearing at the opening weekend of the program on Sunday October 23. Ms Miller’s keynote presentation “Women in Business” addresses how empowerment for the modern business woman can come at a price when it comes to balancing it with your personal life. Carolyn contemplates if it’s possible to have it all and shares her personal experiences including the pitfalls of the “boys club” and how to make the most of the opportunities available to you and leveraging these to achieve your goals.

Proudly sponsored by the University of the Sunshine Coast and the Sunshine Coast Regional Council, the course offers participants a great opportunity to be motivated and educated by some of the best in the leadership and consultative business arena.

Participants are encouraged to stay at the Crowne Plaza, Pelican Waters and take advantage of the accommodation package on offer or simply attend the workshops each day. Afternoon free time is scheduled to enable participants to network and mentor each other or take advantage of the amenities the Crowne Plaza offers.
