With the Regional Universities Network recently conducting an in-depth study into the contribution regional universities make to local economies, more than 60 Sunshine Coast businesspeople will come together in Caloundra on 17 April to hear the research findings.

Sunshine Coast Business Council Chair Sandy Zubrinich said Nous Group Director Jonathan Chew would deliver aspects of the outcomes and outline key areas where regional universities like the University of the Sunshine Coast can enhance their economic impact through improved performance and policy conditions.

“The presentation will consider the economic contributions of these institutions in terms of student and university spending, jobs and productivity and innovation and knowledge,” Ms Zubrinich said.

“This research will be instrumental for future planning and has the potential to influence regional policy decisions at a local, state and federal level.”

Ms Zubrinich said Mr Chew brought a wealth of experience to the study, possessing expertise in policy design, market analysis and evaluation.

“Jonathan specialises in the tertiary education sector and has worked extensively with governments, universities and training organisations both in Australia and overseas to understand community expectations and identify opportunities for expansion and growth.”

“We’re delighted to have him on the Sunshine Coast to share his insights and encourage anyone interested in attending to secure their seat before the event sells out.”

The corporate luncheon includes a drink on arrival, two-course lunch, a glass of wine during lunch and plenty of networking opportunities.

To book, please visit www.trybooking.com/UISH before 13 April or call 0402 215 560 for more information. Registrations are essential and tickets are priced at $99 for Sunshine Coast Business Council members, $110 for non-members or $880 for a corporate table of 10.
