The Caf Coolum celebrates big milestone today!

May 14, 2012

At a time when many businesses are doing it tough, the team at The Caf Coolum in Birtwill Street are celebrating serving coffees to Coolum locals and visitors for 10 years today… and they’ve come a long way since their humble beginnings.

Since 14 May 2002:

– The team has grown from 4 to 16

– They now sell approx 12,000 coffees a month compared to 2,000 when they first started

– There have been two menu items that have proved so popular, they haven’t changed in ten years! The Open Burger and the Bacon & Egg Muffin

– The Friday Ladies (a group of local women have been coming to the Caf every Friday for lunch (with a few exceptions))

Di and Simon Stevenson who started the cafe and are still very much part of the team, said they couldn’t have done it without the fantastic support of the local community.

“We are very fortunate in Coolum to have such great support from the locals who have helped us grow the business over the past decade,” said Di.

“We’d also like to thank the staff who have been such an important part of our business – they make coming to work every day a pleasure and are part of the Caf family.”

To celebrate this significant milestone, customers will enjoy a free cookie with every coffee for the next week.

Ends.
