The Sunshine Coast economy is set to receive another significant boost, with construction officially commencing at the Sage Landing residential development in Buderim this week.

Michael Kain, Managing Director of Devcon Building Co — the builder appointed to construct the 13 designer homes — said more than 100 jobs would be created throughout the construction period.

“We anticipate anywhere between 30 and 50 workers will be on-site on any given day, with preference given to local tradespeople and suppliers,” Mr Kain said.

“Supposing weather conditions are favourable, we expect construction will conclude around August or September, with residents able to move in shortly thereafter.”

“We are delighted to be working with the HMR Projects team on this project and look forward to delivering the high quality Sage Landing homes.”

HMR Projects Director Ken Reed said the official sod turning marked a significant milestone for the development, which is now over 90 per cent sold.

“It’s exciting to break ground at Sage Landing and to bring the new community to life,” Mr Reed said.

“The wet weather we’ve experienced in recent months has undoubtedly slowed down our progress, so we’re looking forward to getting construction underway and welcoming our first residents later in the year.”

“Twelve of the 13 house and land packages have already been snapped up, so we’re now turning our focus to the development’s second stage as construction of stage one kicks off.”

“Without giving too much away, I can confirm stage two will offer the same quality and attention to detail as its predecessor, while at the same time introducing a new product type that complements the development perfectly.”

Ray White Buderim Real Estate Agent Lew Pottinger said to date, Sage Landing had proved popular among locally based buyers seeking low maintenance homes.

“We’re finding a lot of existing Buderim residents want to downsize from larger, acreage properties, yet they’re eager to continue living within the local area,” Mr Pottinger said.

“It’s not every day you find level, freehold, lock-up-and-leave properties within easy walking distance of Buderim village, so I’m not surprised they’ve sold so quickly.”

“We expect the stage two offering will be just as popular on its release later this month.”

Sage Landing comprises 13 freehold lots ranging from 357m2 to 533m2 in size. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac close to Buderim village, the development is just 10 minutes’ drive from Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland and Maroochydore beaches.

Sage Landing is being constructed by Devcon Building Co which has successfully built numerous estates in areas like Sippy Downs, Buderim, Mooloolaba and Birtinya.
