Shining stars set to impress local business women

October 25, 2010

Fresh from her World Wide Walkabout, Samantha Martin, a.k.a. the Walkabout Woman has returned to Australia and will be joining the members and guests of the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network to share her incredible journey and perspectives on bringing awareness to the world on cultural diversities, especially indigenous issues.

The November networking breakfast will be held on Tuesday November 9 at the Maroochydore Surf Club and SCBWN President, Sue Willis, believes members will enjoy hearing how Samantha, an Australian Aboriginal woman and her partner Michael Butler (an independent filmmaker and Director of Sacred Oz Productions) travelled the world filming their remarkable documentary of self discovery and how they could bring an awareness of Aboriginal Australians to the world.

Growing up in a tiny Kimberly community, Samantha had a dream to travel, to work in television and become a spokesperson for her people in order to express her enduring love and passion for indigenous Australia,” said Sue. Samantha has certainly achieved all that and more.

“Samantha’s passion to teach and connect with different cultures around the world led her to experience a variety of exceptional encounters from travelling the outback teaching indigenous children literacy and numeracy, learning the art of Thai cooking from a top Thai masterchef, swimming with alligators and exploring the world-famous Everglades, immersing herself in American Indian history and visiting Ground Zero in New York. Samantha is sure to inspire and entertain you with her adventures and ensure your day starts with energy and enthusiasm!”.

The event, sponsored by Shine Lawyers, will also include a post breakfast workshop on ‘Finding your Work Life Balance, facilitated by Jen Forster from Goal Power. Goal Power teaches women how to reclaim their health, wellness, their life … and most importantly their attitude to all three.

Ends.
