Stockland Providence is again hosting a free family-friendly New Year’s Eve event at the Market Space Green, along Harmony Crescent in South Ripley, on Sunday 31 December 2023 from 6pm.

Fireworks, delivered by the Ipswich City Council, will start at 9pm and rounds off the event.

Last year around 2,000 locals and residents attended, and organisers are suggesting those coming on Sunday pack a picnic rug and camping chairs.

There will be food trucks, live music from Lisa De Angelis Duo, roving entertainment, face painting and an inflatable obstacle course, providing plenty of entertainment for the whole family.

Stockland Providence Project Director, David Franklin said he was looking forward to celebrating the end of the year with the community.

“We have a great community here at Providence, so we wanted to be able to provide a free event where everyone can join together to celebrate the year coming to a close, while also looking forward to 2024,” Mr Franklin said.

Food trucks include Roamin’ Pizza, Hawker Eats, My Latino Fusion, True Blue Treats, Dippin Dots and Chi Chi’s Ice Cream.

“We expect the inflatable obstacle course to be a crowd favourite but know the main attraction will be the magnificent fireworks display which will cap off the night at 9pm,” Mr Franklin added.

“Events like this highlight what residents love about our communities – coming together with family and friends and getting to know your neighbours a little better, all while supporting local food and drink vendors.”

Parking at the event is limited, with additional parking is available in nearby carparks on Splendid Drive and Parkway Avenue, or the Stockland Providence Sales Centre carpark.

Stockland Providence is located 43 kilometres south west of the Brisbane CBD and 12 kilometres west of Greater Springfield.

Already home to 3,800 residents, the community is expected to grow to 20,000 residents over the next 20 years.
