Rhythmic gymnasts set to impress

Rhythmic gymnasts from Brisbane and the Gold Coast are sure to impress spectators at the Gymnastics Queensland Rhythmic Gymnastics State Championships at Splitz Gym at Robertson State School this weekend. This discipline of gymnastics is often regarded as the most visually spectacular with competitors performing intricate routines with the ball, hoop, rope, ribbon and clubs.

There will be 39 gymnasts from three clubs, namely Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics, Splitz Gymnastics and Moreton Bay College Gymnastics vying for a place in the Queensland team to compete in the National Championships in Sydney at the end of the month.

Kym Dowdell, Gymnastics Queensland Chief Executive Officer said that the gymnasts are sure to put on an impressive display as their routines are delivered with incredible precision and flair.

“Rhythmic gymnastics makes for a fantastic spectator sport and we look forward to the best of the best demonstrating their skills this weekend,” said Ms Dowdell.

“We encourage those interested in gymnastics to come along and enjoy the show as gymnasts go through their paces and wow the crowds.”
