Region’s best face off in gymnastics championship

2015 Gymnastics Queensland Senior Regional Championships (South East Queensland)

March 20, 2015

Gymnasts from across the region will converge on Spring Hill on 28 and 29 March to compete in the 2015 South East Queensland Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Senior Regional Championships at Brisbane Grammar School Gymnastics Club.

More than 100 gymnasts from 18 clubs will battle it out on apparatus such as the vault, high bar, parallel bars, pommel horse and still rings, and also demonstrate their prowess on the floor.

Gymnastics Queensland Chief Executive Officer Kym Dowdell said organisers were looking forward to seeing a range of complex routines and displays of strength and flexibility throughout the event.

“Gymnastics is much more than just a series of tumbles and jumps; the sport requires strength, agility and precision and is enjoyable for both participants and spectators,” Ms Dowdell said.

Ms Dowdell encouraged those with an interest in gymnastics to attend and said the events always proved popular with families.

“The Gymnastics Queensland Senior Regional Championships also provide a wonderful opportunity for the community to support local gymnasts who will compete against the best in the region. We wish all our gymnasts the best of luck and look forward to a great meet.”
