Reed appoints Head of Development

February 19, 2015

Following the recent appointment of its new Group CFO, Queensland-based property developer Reed Property Group has now appointed industry expert Jay Emmerton as its Head of Development.

Mr Emmerton said he was delighted to be joining the RPG team and tackling a new challenge in the sunshine state.

“With so many different developments already underway and many more on the horizon for RPG, it’s a great time to be joining the company and helping to steer its future direction,” Mr Emmerton said.

“RPG already has projects being developed on the Sunshine Coast, in Brisbane and further afield, and I’m looking forward to helping expand the company’s presence across Queensland and beyond in the future.”

Mr Emmerton brings more than twenty years of experience in the property industry to the role, as well as expertise in leading development teams.

Group Chairman Ken Reed said Mr Emmerton’s extensive knowledge of both residential and commercial property markets would be of great value to the Reed team.

“Having worked for a range of well-known companies including Mirvac, Urbex (part of BMD Constructions) and Baulderstone Hornibrook, Jay is skilled in acquiring, developing, leasing and selling property projects,” Mr Reed said.

“We are delighted to welcome Jay to the company given his extensive experience, his leadership skills and proven success in delivering both small and large-scale developments.”

In his role as Project Director at Urbex, Mr Emmerton developed various projects including residential subdivisions in Wakerley, Logan and Lennox Head; commercial buildings in Albion, West End and Eagle Farm; and industrial developments in Yatala, Tingalpa and Townsville. He also managed development teams in Mackay, Townsville and Darwin.

Mr Emmerton said he is enjoying living in Brisbane’s Bayside with his wife and children and will split his time at work between Reed Property Group’s Sunshine Coast and Brisbane offices.

“Anyone based in this part of the world can attest that living and working in South-East Queensland is a real privilege,” Mr Emmerton said.

On weekends he can often be found out running, cycling or enjoying the coffee shops along the esplanade near his home.

Mr Emmerton commenced working at Reed Property Group in January and will focus his attention on delivering the group’s current developments including Emporio in Maroochydore and Belise in Brisbane and sourcing the new pipeline of developments for the group’s future.
