Property sell-offs attract hungry buyers

23 November 2009

It appears investors are ready to take advantage of opportunities in the property market, when the announcement to sell-off remaining apartments in four prestigious Cairns developments generated over 70 leads in the first 24 hours of release.

Which Property? has been appointed under instructions from Receivers and Managers to sell the remaining stock in Vision, Vue, Trinity Cove and Citi Edge and has been overwhelmed by enquiries.

“We sold over 20 apartments before the official release to the market which is a real indication of the continued demand for quality, well-positioned property at prices which represent true value for money,” said Peter Shervey, Sales Person at Which Property?.

“While the regional property market may be at a low, savvy buyers are looking for opportunities to pick up a good deal in the right location. With more than 100 people moving to Cairns every week these properties certainly tick all the boxes from an investor’s perspective.”

The Australian Bureau of Statistics latest regional population growth figures for the 12 months to June 30, 2008 revealed that 5,985 people moved to Cairns during the year. This figure confirmed that Cairns was the fastest growing Local Government area outside of Queensland ‘s South East corner, even outperforming Townsville.

“All four developments meet the strict Which Property? criteria of location, design and build quality, tenantability and return on investment and the combination of spacious floor plans and great locations in the CBD and on Trinity Beach make these apartments outstanding value,” said Mr Shervey.

The apartments are not only appealing to investors from Cairns and across Queensland but also to owner-occupiers and first-time homeowners. Prices start from $310,000 in Trinity Cove, $330,000 in Citi Edge, $440,000 in Vision and $530,000 in Vue which only has five apartments remaining.
