Peak performers on show at Business Woman of the Year Awards
July 29, 2011
The countdown is on as final preparations are underway for this year’s prestigious 2011 Sunshine Coast Business Woman of the Year Awards to be held at The Events Centre, Caloundra on Saturday August 27.
32 of the Coast’s top business women have been nominated as finalists across five categories including Professional, Corporate, Micro/Small, Young Business Woman and the new Sports Woman of the Year. The overall winner will walk away with this year’s coveted Outstanding Business Woman of the Year Award.
A prominent event on the business calendar, the Awards evening showcases the numerous achievements of these women from a diverse range of industries and the invaluable contribution they make to business and within the community.
Sue Willis, President of the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network and successful businesswomen herself, says that the previous year’s Award winners inspire and support other women in the community and believes the calibre of nominations sets the bar higher each year.
“Our “Business Woman of the Year” awards are all about recognising and rewarding the successful business women on the Sunshine Coast and allowing others to share in their stories so they too can feel motivated and supported to achieve their goals,” Sue said.
An achievement unto itself to be nominated and selected for an award, Sue believes that as the network continues to grow, there are more and more women from across the Sunshine Coast region who are more than worthy of being nominated.
The major sponsors for this year’s awards include Garland Waddington Solicitors, Telstra Business, The Events Centre Caloundra, University of the Sunshine Coast, Weekender and Advance Sports Sunshine Coast.
The Gala Awards Night is on Saturday August 27 at The Events Centre, Minchinton Street Caloundra and includes a 3 course dinner and entertainment by Midnight Grove.
