Local stylist paints the town red

May 5, 2014

It’s been a busy few years for Sunshine Coast local Briana Forster.

After building a reputation as one of Queensland’s most sought-after creative directors, styling a range of middle and high-end properties around the country and taking over ownership of local interiors concept store Watermelon Red in 2008, the nationally acclaimed interior stylist has now relocated her popular retail store to Peregian Beach.

Ms Forster said Watermelon Red Peregian Beach had officially opened its doors in April, bringing with it its trademark contemporary homewares and lifestyle products, clothing, gifts and furnishings, as well as colour consultancy and interior decorating services.

“It’s really exciting to see the new shop up and running and we’re thrilled to be a part of the Peregian Beach community,” Ms Forster said.

“The Peregian Beach area has a really inviting and vibrant feel to it and we felt this was an accurate reflection of our brand and without a doubt the perfect place to open our doors.”

Ms Forster said after operating in Coolum for almost a decade, Watermelon Red had established strong roots on the Sunshine Coast and would continue to maintain its presence in the region well into the future.

“The Sunshine Coast will always feel like home to us and we’re really happy to be marking another milestone locally with the launch of our new store.”

Watermelon Red has developed a strong following amongst design-loving Sunshine Coast locals, and has also attracted the attention of shoppers across Australia in recent years, following the launch of its online boutique in 2011.

“The addition of the online shop has been instrumental in attracting online purchasers from around the country and boosting business performance, but it’s always nice to have that face-to-face contact with the locals that only comes with a shop front,” Ms Forster said.

Watermelon Red Peregian Beach is located at Shop 5, Peregian Boardwalk, 224-226 David Low Way (beside Raw Energy).

About Briana Forster

As the Creative Director at Watermelon Red, Briana has always had a strong connection to the creative industries. Growing up in a family deeply entrenched in the building game, her love of interiors, colour and the creative was founded at a young age as her parents built and sold homes across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

After returning from London in 2004 with a clear vision for her future, she retrained herself in public relations and marketing before undertaking a three year internship in interior styling and colour consultancy under the guidance of Suzie Crogan.

Briana’s signature style is colour, in every application. She is a true individual and her creative flair and enthusiasm for her industry is apparent in every project she undertakes, ensuring each client is presented with a truly unique outcome.

Briana took over Watermelon Red in 2008 and has since created a proven track record of providing high quality and vibrant homes and investment properties working on middle to high-end projects in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and across the Sunshine Coast.

Briana’s projects have been featured in a range of high profile publications including Queensland Homes, Australian House & Garden, Adore Home and Luxury Home Design Magazine to name a few.
