Kawana Waters Farmers and Artisans Markets are on the move!

February 13, 2013

Expansion for the Kawana Waters Markets means not only a new site at the Kawana Waters State College but also the addition of ‘Artisans’ into their name. On Saturday 23 February the popular markets move to their new location, making them one of the largest local produce and artisan markets on the Sunshine Coast.

The move is with the assistance from the Kawana Waters Chamber of Commerce (KWCCI) and president, Jo Hall said the new location at Kawana Waters State College will grow the market’s existing 40 local produce stalls with 25 new artisan stalls. The new location provides an all-weather venue with great undercover space meaning the markets will be held all year round, rain, hail or shine.

“The markets were looking for a location that allowed for growth but also the ability to continue connecting with the community. Kawana Waters State School provided the ideal solution,” said Ms Hall.

“This new location will assist in maintaining the vision and integrity of the Markets, which is a commitment to consistently deliver high quality food produce and hand crafted artisan gifts which the locals have come to love,” said Ms Hall.

“We will celebrate our first day in our new location by having a diverse and dynamic group of new artisan stall holders as well as live music, face painting, jumping castle and jugglers.”

Market Director, Shane Stanley said, if you come to the markets you can’t help but indulge the senses, taste some amazing foods, wander through the stalls and simply unwind in a great atmosphere.

“At the markets you will discover a huge range of tempting organic fruits and vegetables, gourmet condiments and fruity jams amongst some beautifully hand-crafted products,” said Mr Stanley

“It’s worth keeping up to date with our calendar or liking our Facebook page, as 2013 has some very special events planned to really put Kawana Waters Farmers and Artisan’s Markets on the map.”

The first market at the new location will be held on February 23. If you are interested in having your own stall at the markets contact 0407 144 223.
