It’s all about the bride
July 11, 2011
A local wedding expo is hoping to capitalise on the latest research from IBIS World that weddings represent a $4 billion industry in Australia when they open their doors on Sunday July 24 at Noosa Springs Spa and Golf Resort.
According to IBIS World General Manager Robert Bryant, the economy continues to gain strength and is subsequently boosting revenue for the wedding industry.
Dee Collins who runs the two very successful it’s my wedding expos on the Sunshine Coast believes this is great news for the Sunshine Coast as one of Australia’s premier wedding destinations.
“The research shows that one thing a bride never compromises on is a wedding gown which is why our upcoming expo features two fabulous fashion parades, co-ordinated and choreographed by local designer team Denise and Kate Orr of eVisual Bridal Boutique with MC Jodie Hedley-Ward, author of the book ‘You Sexy Mother’.”
“We are in the final stages of preparing for our last expo of the year featuring award winning exhibitors. The whole day is all about offering brides a range of options and providing a fun environment for them to discover what’s possible,” said Dee.
Jodie Hedley-Ward is looking forward to seeing the impressive range of bridal attire on parade and meeting the excited brides-to-be, many of them already ‘sexy mothers’ who are planning their nuptials.
The fashion parades at this Noosa Expo offer brides something for everyone. From vintage to classic fifties to Hollywood glamour on display, the parade will include a range by local designers including eVisual Bridal and Formal, Away with the Faeries and Janet Francis Designs. For the finishing touch, Intimo Lingerie will be showcasing their range of Intimate, Private and Boutique Collections to ensure every bride feels fabulous on her wedding day and night.
There is strong local representation in the fashion parade with Denise Orr of eVisual Bridal and Formal, Nicki Hearn of Away with the Faeries and Janet Francis of Janet Francis Designs busy designing and creating dresses specifically for the day.
Ms Orr says that the recent royal nuptials and celebrity weddings such as Kate Moss’s seem to have reinforced the trend back to sophisticated glamour that was the choice of brides in the 1930’s to 1950’s.
“There was something about the style icons of those times that seems to have stood the test of time. Think Marilyn Munroe, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly and you are reminded of an era when women celebrated and rejoiced in their femininity and individual style to such enduring effect,” said Denise.
Brides, grooms and their wedding party love the fact that by visiting the Expo, everything they need to create their ideal wedding from start to finish can be found at this one-stop-wedding-shop. Kim Van Dyke of Mountain Creek is planning her wedding for 11/11/11 and said that she found many of her wedding suppliers through the previous wedding expo such as her photographer, hairdresser and make-up artist.
For brides wanting to get started on their planning, whether its next month, next year or beyond, the it’s my wedding expo at Noosa Springs Spa and Golf Resort on Sunday July 24 is the last wedding expo on the Sunshine Coast for this year.
