Home Garden Expo – a gardening extravaganza

Green fingers and gardening novices alike are looking forward to one of Australia’s largest gardening events with the 26th Queensland Home Garden Expo set to attract record-breaking crowds to the Nambour Showgrounds, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, from July 9-11.

The event is a three-day celebration of all things gardening and last year attracted over 27,000 visitors who enjoyed displays from over 360 exhibitors including 50 nurseries, breaking all previous records.

Queensland Home Garden Expo Event Organiser, Marion Beazley says this year’s event will feature everything from a spectacular range of plants to the latest in garden tools, accessories, landscape garden displays, garden art and more.

“The Expo is highly regarded as one of Queensland best gardening events and places amongst the top five in the country,” said Marion.

“We are committed to offering visitors a diverse range of exhibitors across all aspects of home gardening and also offer access to a wealth of information from gardening experts. This year we have more exhibitors than ever before with some of Australia’s best nurseries planning to celebrate the launch of new release plants and garden products at the Expo.”

The Expo will once again host a high calibre Lecture and Demonstration Program on six stages featuring some of Australia’s leading garden experts including radio 4BC’s Col Campbell, ABC radio host Annette McFarlane and Brisbane Botanical Gardens Curator, Ross McKinnon.

Phil Dudman and Julie Ryan will be presenting ‘The Gourmet Gardener’ shows with great tips on growing your own herbs and vegetables and turning them into scrumptious, fresh gourmet meals.

The Giant Kitchen Garden continues to grow as sustainable and organic gardening becomes more popular and this year also sees an increase in the range of sustainable living products on offer.

“While home gardening is the focus of the event, we always aim to offer a great day out for the whole family with free eco entertainment shows for the kids, quality food stalls and a number of innovative products to surprise everyone,” Marion said.

If you are a novice, an avid gardener, collector or just looking for a great day out, be sure head along to this year’s Queensland Home Garden Expo.
