Espresso cafe, designer sales suite latest additions to Emporio precinct
March 12, 2013
The Maroochydore CBD has recently celebrated another two major milestones, with the Emporio community continuing to deliver on its promise of creating the Coast’s first true mixed-use development.
The opening of a funky cafe and a new Emporio sales suite continue the precinct’s journey from blueprint to bricks and mortar, as the dream of a vibrant urban village in the heart of the Sunshine Coast CBD comes to life.
“They say one of the best ways to judge a location these days is the distance to the nearest good cup of coffee. That’s great news for our Emporio residents and tenants who are now only steps away from the precinct’s much-anticipated caffeine injection, Houston Espresso Café,” said Jason Kollanyi, Reed Property Group’s Sales and Marketing Manager.
“With more than a billion cups of coffee consumed in cafés and restaurants across Australia each year, we understood the importance of getting one of the Coast’s best brews into Emporio to satisfy the locals’ caffeine cravings.”
The buzzing café, which is located on the ground floor of 2 Emporio Place, is the place to go for locally brewed java as well as a modern menu from sushi and salads to deli rolls — all with an emphasis on fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The café will also provide catering services, a handy addition for Emporio’s string of high profile commercial tenants.
The locally roasted Houston Espresso coffee brand from which the café takes its name is owned by Sunshine Coast local, Adrian Stainsby and is already available in his two popular Loaded Lizard cafés — one on the Mudjimba Esplanade and the other at the Sunshine Coast Airport.
The other addition to the Emporio precinct is the new sales suite which also opened in recent weeks. Located alongside the café, the suite offers the opportunity to experience Emporio like a resident. The model brings the Emporio vision to life and the walk-through display apartment demonstrates the great attention to detail invested in the apartments, from polished reconstituted stone bench tops to SMEG stainless-steel appliances and designer bath fittings.
And it’s not just Emporio that’s buzzing. If you head down Plaza Parade to the Coast’s largest shopping centre, Sunshine Plaza you’ll find new additions including Grill’d, a healthy burger bistro and Mad Mex, fresh Mexican-inspired food.
The success of the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre, which opened four months ago, has also invigorated Maroochy Boulevard with national retailers like Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne, as well as specialty interior-furnishings purveyors.
“It’s all these elements that are making Emporio an attractive option, not just for locals who can see how the area’s emerging, but for investors from across Australia. We’re fortunate enough to be in one of the Sunshine Coast’s most exciting precincts and it’s great to see it coming to life,” said Mr Kollanyi.
