With civil works now nearing completion at the Sage Landing development in Buderim, construction will commence early this year, generating more than 60 local jobs.
HMR Projects Director Ken Reed said Devcon Building Co — the builder appointed to construct stage one of the development — would kick-start works in early February.
“While the heavy rainfall experienced in November certainly put us to the test, we are looking forward to wrapping up civil works in mid-January and commencing construction of the 13 designer homes,” Mr Reed said.
“All 13 homes in stage one will be built together, with construction expected to conclude by the end of July 2018.”
Mr Reed said during peak periods, he anticipated between 25 and 30 tradespeople would be working on-site each day.
“As a long-term local myself, I have always placed priority on using locals to contribute to the Sunshine Coast economy.”
“Devcon shares our commitment and this was one of the reasons why we opted to bring them on board to construct Sage Landing.”
“They are an experienced team and I’m confident they will bring our vision of Sage Landing as a luxury enclave of smaller exclusive homes to life.”
Mr Reed said a mix of single-level, low set homes as well as larger, double-storey houses would be built as part of stage one.
“At present, eight of the 13 homes have been sold, and we fully expect this number to increase as construction progresses and home hunters get a glimpse of the new community.”
“It’s rare to find brand new properties situated within short walking distance of the cafés, shops and restaurants on Buderim’s high street, so we have no doubt the properties will continue to be in high demand.”
“Sage Landing has been of particular interest to buyers seeking low maintenance homes that they can easily lock up and leave. Many are downsizers moving from larger family homes who still want enough space to entertain and host family and also want to avoid the ongoing burden of a body corporate.”
Devcon Building Co Managing Director Michael Kain said he was looking forward to breaking ground on the site and adding to the company’s list of quality construction projects on the Sunshine Coast.
“We specialise in residential projects and have successfully delivered numerous estates in areas like Sippy Downs, Buderim, Mooloolaba and Birtinya, so it will be great to bring our expertise to this project,” Mr Kain said.
Sage Landing is comprised of 13 freehold lots ranging from 357m2 to 533m2 in size. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac close to Buderim village, the development is just 10 minutes’ drive from Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland and Maroochydore beaches.
