Countdown to Connect 2015 commences

Iconic Australian media personality Deborah Hutton and Jetts fitness club founder Brendon Levenson are among the 20-plus high profile speakers who will take to the stage at the Mooloolaba campus of TAFE Queensland East Coast this week to share business advice and success stories as part of the inaugural Connect 2015 business event.

Event Chair Ross Hepworth said more than 200 Sunshine Coast business people were set to converge on the Mooloolaba campus of TAFE Queensland East Coast for the one-day event, which includes a comprehensive program of informative business panels, networking opportunities and keynote addresses.

“Connect 2015 has been designed to meet the needs of the Sunshine Coast business community and also challenge local business owners and operators’ perspectives on the best way to conduct business,” Mr Hepworth said.

“Our aim is to provide a platform where business people can establish productive relationships, and also learn practical business strategies from a range of highly successful and knowledgeable industry experts.”

Mr Hepworth said with business owners becoming increasingly time poor, the importance of taking time out of their business to improve their skills and workplace practices could not be underestimated.

“Overseeing the day-to-day running of a business can be incredibly time-consuming, but it’s crucial that business owners make the effort to invest in their professional development as this will undoubtedly benefit their business over the long term.”

“Whether it’s enhancing the sustainability of your business or delivering stellar customer service, heightening your brand’s profile or keeping up with industry trends, there are always going to be aspects of a business that can be taken to the next level.”

“Connect 2015 addresses each of these learning areas and will deliver valuable and practical information that can be incorporated into daily business operations.”

Mr Hepworth said with the Connect 2015 speaker line-up now complete, he looked forward to a day of business inspiration and education.

“We’re thrilled to have so many talented business people taking to the stage to share their insights throughout the day,” Mr Hepworth said.

“Sustainability expert Arron Wood has been attracting a lot of attention since joining the speaker bill, and as the founder of Firestarter and a former Young Australian of the Year, I have no doubt attendees will draw a lot of valuable information from his presentation regarding the impacts of emerging green markets.”

“We’re also delighted to have CSIRO Principal Scientist Dr Stefan Hajkowicz presenting regarding global megatrends; RedEye Director Wayne Gerard discussing innovation and entrepreneurship; Kim McCosker detailing her journey to business success; and Greg Loudoun outlining how businesses can use strategic agility to thrive and survive.”

Mr Hepworth said a range of speakers would also join in the various panels taking place throughout the event.

“Connect 2015 will incorporate four panels covering everything from staff retention and branding, right through to customer service and conducting business in the future.”

“It’s a real coup to have such knowledgeable speakers participating in these sessions, as it will provide a variety of perspectives on each topic and encourage attendees to consider different viewpoints.”

“Panellists include speakers as diverse as The People Pill author Ken Wright, ComLink CEO Feda Adra, atmail and SPARK BUREAU CEO Zach Johnson, and Jetts founder Brendon Levenson, just to name a few.”
