Cork-popping expansion for Creek Cellars

November 28, 2013

Exactly three years after The Creek Cellar first opened its doors in Mountain Creek, this independently run local business has cut the ribbon on a second bottle shop centrally located in Maud Street, Maroochydore.

Owned by Sam Tomich and Paul Sawczuk, the Creek Cellar’s new bottle shop is in the hands of wine industry experts. This entrepreneurial duo also own and manage the Creek Tavern in Mountain Creek and Mr Tomich’s family own the award-winning Tomich Wines from the Adelaide Hills.

It is an encouraging sign of investment in this growth area and manager of both bottle shops, Jarrad Wise is excited at becoming an important ‘resource’ leading up to Christmas.

“The timing of the launch is perfect as people are looking for advice and specials for upcoming Christmas get togethers,” Mr Wise said.

“Whether it is choosing a sherry for the Christmas pudding, playing with different cocktail combinations or just getting a great price for your slab of beer, hopefully people will want to support the local guy this Christmas,” Mr Wise said.

In a space that is traditionally dominated by the major corporates, Creek Cellars have confidence of their place in this highly competitive market and if the first two weeks are anything to go by, plans for their third bottle shop won’t be too far away.

“Our extensive liquor knowledge and flexibility to offer the customer great weekly specials have been our strength in Mountain Creek and we hope to share the same service and advice in Maroochydore,” Mr Wise said.

Patrons are urged to take up a Cellar Club membership which can be used at either of the bottle shops and allows points to be collected and redeemed with cash off purchases, extra discounts and specials, invitations to tastings and events.

Leading up to the festive season the Creek Cellars will be offering great corporate packages and introductory offers. They also have a premium clean skin exclusive to the Cellars that has been bottled by Tomich Wines.

Ends.
