Congratulations to outstanding business women of the Sunshine Coast

August 15, 2010

Last night the highly anticipated 2010 Business Woman of the Year Awards were held at the Hyatt Regency Coolum seeing Lindy Atkin from Bark Design Architects awarded the Outstanding Business Woman of the Year.

Winners were chosen in four other categories, namely Lisa Aitkin from Aitken Legal as the Corporate Business Woman of the Year, Rayeleene Elston from National Australia Bank as the Professional Business Woman of the Year, Sarah Pye from Kids Welcome as the Micro/Small Business Woman of the Year and Linda Ireland from Mortgage Choice/Insight Processing as the Young Business Woman of the Year.

President of the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network, Sue Willis said that the judges were once again very impressed with the amazing talent of the finalists and the high calibre of business women on the Coast.

“This is our twelfth year and each year the selection process to decide on one overall winner becomes more and more difficult. It just goes to show the diversity and talent of the women in our community, their leadership qualities and potential future contribution to their industries.” said Sue.

“These awards are about recognising those women who do remarkable things both in the business arena and within their communities. Highlighting their success not only rewards them but also serves to inspire women in all walks of life.”

The gala dinner, MC’d by Kim Morrison and Fleur Whelligan, saw more than 320 business leaders and professionals celebrate the 29 finalists and their achievements.

The major sponsors for this year’s awards included the Sunshine Coast Daily, The University of the Sunshine Coast Faculty of Business, Garland Waddington Solicitors, ANZ and Telstra Country Wide.

Ends.
