Complete Connect 2015 program revealed
July 7, 2015
Organisers of the inaugural Connect 2015 conference have today released the complete event program, announcing a final round of high profile presenters who will join the speaker line-up on 30 July.
Connect 2015 Event Chair Ross Hepworth said he was delighted to have Jetts fitness chain founder Brendon Levenson as well as a host of other well-known presenters and local personalities joining the one-day conference program.
“It’s a real coup to have Brendon on board and we’re looking forward to seeing him take to the stage as part of the final panel which will explore how we will do business in 2035 and what we can do to prepare for the future,” Mr Hepworth said.
“Since launching the first Jetts club on the Gold Coast in 2007, Brendon has expanded the business to over 250 clubs across Australia, New Zealand and Europe, demonstrating his expertise as a businessperson and entrepreneur.”
“The company’s success and commitment to first-rate customer service has seen Jetts awarded the number one franchisor at the 2012 Smart Company Awards, the Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customer awards in both Australia and New Zealand and the Exporter of the Year title in the Sunshine Coast Business Awards in 2012, so I’m sure Connect 2015 attendees will receive a lot of valuable insight from Brendon.”
Mr Hepworth said the Department of Employment’s Labour Market Research and Analysis Branch Manager Ivan Neville was also set to present at the event, providing detailed insight into the current labour market on the Sunshine Coast and how it compares to state and national trends.
“Ivan is well known for his entertaining presentation style and his ability to explain, in plain terms, the key labour market challenges and opportunities facing regions across Australia.”
Mr Hepworth said a range of local personalities including Kevin Day of Empyrean Lighting; Bill Darby of Rumba Resort; Maria Woods of Sunshine Coast Grammar School; Professor Mary Katsikitis of the University of the Sunshine Coast; John Lobwein of Suncoast Cabs; and author of The People Pill, Ken Wright of Engage4Results, had also been announced as part of the final speaker bill.
“Connect 2015 was developed specifically to meet the needs of the Sunshine Coast business community, so it made sense for us to incorporate a number of local businesspeople and community leaders into the line-up and have them involved in the various discussions and sharing of knowledge,” Mr Hepworth said.
“These presenters represent a broad cross-section of the Sunshine Coast business community and education sector and all bring a wealth of expertise to the event.”
Other Connect 2015 speakers who have been announced in recent weeks include acclaimed business person, publisher and media personality Deborah Hutton; Firestarter founder and environmentalist Aaron Wood; RedEye founder Wayne Gerard; CSIRO principal scientist in strategic foresight Dr Stefan Hajkowicz; atmail CEO Zach Johnson; Acumen International founder and CEO Greg Loudon and many more.
