2018 Gymnastics Queensland Senior Regional Championships (SEQ)

More than 100 gymnasts from across South East Queensland will showcase their strength, agility and skill this month as part of the 2018 South East Queensland Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Senior Regional Championships being held at the Brisbane Grammar School Indoor Sports Centre on 24 and 25 March.

Gymnastics Queensland Chief Executive Officer Kym Dowdell said athletes from 17 clubs would compete in the hope of qualifying for the state championships being held in April.

“Gymnasts will take to the floor as well as perform complex routines on apparatus such as the vault, horizontal bar, parallel bars, rings and pommel horse,” Ms Dowdell said.

“While these meets always deliver plenty of stiff competition, they also act as an opportunity for participants to experience the formal competition environment and learn from their peers.”

“It’s always exciting to see the talent on display each year and I commend all of the athletes for dedicating so many hours to perfecting their routines.”

Ms Dowdell wished all competitors the best of luck and said she encouraged anyone looking for an enjoyable weekend activity in Brisbane to come along and spectate at the event.

“The senior regional championships offer entertainment for the whole family, with some of Queensland’s best male gymnasts preparing to showcase their prowess in the sport.”

“Whether you’re an avid sport watcher, interested in taking up artistic gymnastics yourself or simply looking for a fun day out, this event is not to be missed.”
