Coast company expands to Northern Territory
April 28, 2015
Sunshine Coast local Sally Desch doesn’t do things in halves.
Since launching human resources, recruitment and training firm HRM Contracting and Consulting in 2005, the businesswoman has grown the Birtinya-based company from a one-man-band to a thriving Queensland franchise, and is now celebrating the recent launch of the business’ first Northern Territory office.
Mrs Desch said she was thrilled to be extending the business beyond Queensland’s borders and to be adding a fourth branch to the company’s portfolio.
“With Darwin’s unemployment rate currently sitting at around three per cent, myself and Darwin Consultant Joanne Milne felt there was a significant need for recruitment services in the area,” Mrs Desch said.
“Joanne has lived and worked in Darwin for the last 14 years, so she has a thorough understanding of the area’s economic climate as well as the needs of local business owners and operators.”
“The new office will deliver the same services that HRM is known for across Queensland, including labour hire, permanent recruitment, career guidance, outsourced human resource services and workplace training, and we’re really looking forward to linking local employers with suitable candidates.”
Ms Desch said HRM Contracting and Consulting’s growth was not solely limited to Darwin, with the company celebrating the addition of three new employees in recent weeks across its suite of offices.
“We’ve certainly seen a shift in business confidence levels across the market in recent months, and I believe this is fuelling the current strong demand for recruitment and human resource services,” Mrs Desch said.
“We’re delighted to be expanding our team to meet the needs of Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Darwin businesses and look forward to continuing this growth in the future.”
“HRM has quite an ambitious growth plan for the next three to five years, and we fully intend to expand our presence further within Queensland and the Northern Territory.”
Mrs Desch attributed the business’ success to hard work, and the integrity and dedication displayed by HRM team members.
“We’re lucky to have a great team of people behind the scenes who are passionate about what they do and are committed to delivering first-rate service,” Mrs Desch said.
“Once you have that and a clear vision of where you want to be, I’ve found the rest just falls into place.”
