BV brings celebrity chef and renovations to the table

November 14, 2014

More than 200 Sunshine Coast locals are set to converge on BV Pizzeria and Wine Bar at Kawana Island next week to celebrate the appointment of celebrity chef Darren Simpson as the establishment’s Executive Chef, and also get the first glimpse of the newly renovated premises.

BV Group Director Todd Young said he looked forward to unveiling the new-look pizzeria and wine bar, which has welcomed a range of new additions.

“Construction has recently wrapped up on our new fully enclosed deck, and we can’t wait to show off the new space,” Mr Young said.

“It offers unobstructed views of the stunning white sands of Double Bay Beach and is already attracting plenty of attention from those looking for a wedding or function venue.”

“We’ve also introduced some comfortable lounges to take in the water views, and added a few new touches to the décor.”

Mr Young said the launch event would present an opportunity for attendees to not only view the premises and meet Darren, but also sample some of the acclaimed chef’s signature dishes.

“Darren’s outstanding culinary skills have seen him develop a reputation as one of the globe’s most revered chefs, having earned the title of 2011 Australian Hotels Association Chef of the Year and United Kingdom Young Chef of the Year,” Mr Young said.

“He is widely recognised for having worked as Head Chef at London’s acclaimed River Café as well as Sir Terence Conran’s Sartoria in Saville Row.”

“It’s not every day you find a chef who has trained and worked with some of the greatest names in the industry at Michelin star restaurants like Roscoff in Ireland and Albert Roux at Le Gavroche in London, so we’re thrilled to welcome Darren to the team and are excited to be rolling out his new-look menu.”

Darren’s culinary principle revolves around the unyielding belief and respect of delivering an experience to his customers. His dishes are personally designed to reflect the freshest variety of Australian seasonal, organic produce.

“Great Italian cuisine paired with attentive service and stylish fit-outs are at the heart of our philosophy at both BV Pizzeria and Wine Bar and its sister restaurant, Bella Venezia Restaurant & Bar in Mooloolaba. It’s all about sharing our passion for exceptional food and hospitality,” Mr Young said.

BV will officially welcome Darren and launch the newly renovated restaurant at an invitation-only event being held on the evening of 18 November.

BV is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week from 7am until late. The venue is also a perfect location for weddings and private or corporate functions.
