Building Boost to spike apartment sales
August 2, 2011
With the Queensland Building Boost now released, apartment sales in highly sought after areas such as Cairns’ Clifton Beach are expected to reap much of the benefit according to local real estate expert, Peter Shervey.
The Which Property Sales Manager, believes the $10,000 grant, available to Australian citizens buying a brand new residence under $600,000 between 1 August 2011 and 31 January 2012, will see apartments which are well-priced attract a flurry of attention in the coming months.
“I anticipate that apartments which represent great value for money, such as the two and three bedroom apartments still available in Clifton Views, will be even more attractive to first-time homeowners and investors with the almost 5% saving provided by the grant,” said Mr Shervey.
“When you consider this discount on a property which offers resort-style living starting from just $218,000 it really makes for a very tempting offer.
“This is a one-off opportunity for the Government to boost the local construction industry by selling a high volume of new homes and those looking to purchase need to act fast to take advantage of the limited number of well-priced apartments available in popular locations.
“Clifton Views is set on 20 acres of prime coastal land and the apartments are spread throughout the spacious landscaped grounds.”
The multi-award winning design of the apartments provides open plan living with deluxe kitchens boasting stainless steel appliances and indoor/outdoor areas with tropical, timber-style shutters.
The resort-style living is enhanced by recreational facilities such as multiple pools, BBQ pavilions, fully equipped gymnasium, children’s playground and tennis court.
“The remaining apartments are priced between $218,000 and $250,000 and we anticipate they will sell fast, especially with the introduction of the grant,” said Mr Shervey.
“Clifton Beach is one of our most popular areas thanks to the spectacular beach, it being only 20km from the Cairns CBD and 45 minutes from Port Douglas and offering a myriad of local amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and the boutique shops of Palm Cove.”
