Bridal expo ensures brides have wedding essentials

Coast brides will gather next weekend with their grooms, girlfriends and family in search of ideas, inspiration and wedding suppliers at the first It’s My Wedding expo of the year at the Maroochy RSL on Sunday, May 22.

With many brides inspired and excited by recent royal nuptials, organisers anticipate those attending will spend their time exploring all the options available to them on the Sunshine Coast to ensure their wedding day is a truly memorable one.

Bridal expos are designed to make the sometimes overwhelming task of planning a wedding easier for the bride – and this expo is no exception. In a recent survey conducted by the It’s My Wedding team, the top five most important considerations when planning a wedding were venue, catering, bridal attire, entertainment and the honeymoon.

As a result, Event Organiser Dee Collins says the expos will answer the call and feature an incredible selection of talented and exclusive exhibitors including a number of new wedding suppliers to the Sunshine Coast.

“We are excited by the influx of bridal activity following the Royal Wedding – it certainly has the wedding industry buzzing. We love the fact that the expo is a really fun day out for brides who often plan it as a day out with their bridesmaids, mums or the incumbent groom,” said Dee.

“Newcomers this year include wedding and events planner ‘Events by Zoe’ who will ensure your planning and wedding day go off without a hitch and Anna Bella Chapel in Ilkley for wedding ceremonies in an idyllic chapel set in stunning surrounds. Away with the Faeries designer, Nicki Hearn is a talented textile and fashion designer who creates custom-designed wedding dresses which will feature in the incredible fashion parade line-up.”

Featuring models from Model Me Little, another recent Coast innovation by Angie Tonner, two exciting fashion parades will feature a range of on-trend bridal fashions at 11:30am and 2:30pm. Whether brides are looking for simple and elegant, modern, classic or vintage gowns, these choreographed parades have something for everyone including members of the wedding party from brides, grooms, mother of the bride/groom to flowergirls and bridesmaids.

Brides attending the expo will have the opportunity of meeting with these and many more exhibitors, all under one roof, as they enjoy the chance to see ‘look-books’ from photographers and venues, sample wedding cake, speak with celebrants and florists, entertainers and DJs. Every element of the wedding day is considered within the range of exhibitors at the expo which will assist couples design their individual wedding day.

Every bride attending on the day will have the chance to win any of the fantastic prizes on offer including bridal gowns from Gowns of Elegance, photographic shoots, hair and make-up vouchers and much more. The expo magazine also includes a special coupon book incorporating over $2,000 worth of amazing discount vouchers and offers which are sure to help solve some of those wedding planning headaches.

The It’s My Wedding expo is on at the Event Centre, Maroochy RSL , Memorial Avenue, Maroochydore on Sunday, May 22. Doors open 10am to 4pm with fashion parades featuring at 11:30am and 2:30pm with other door and spot prizes.
