Booming population in Cairns driving apartment sales

May 5, 2010

With temperatures dropping in the southern states, Cairns will once again become a welcome retreat for those escaping the winter chills and trends show that we can expect an increase in property sales as visitors experience the wonderful Northern winter.

The demand for apartments continues to escalate and the increase in tourism along with Cairns’ recent ranking as the fourth fastest growing region by population (at 3.26%) in the ‘Regional Population Growth’ category is set to increase demand in the housing market in the months ahead.

“We are seeing strong demand at Vision, especially for the 3 bedroom apartments that have expansive corridor views of the ocean. They are exceptional value for money and not only for investors but also owner-occupiers who are looking for an inner-city lifestyle change,” said Peter Shervey, Sales Manager of Which Property?.

“What really makes Vision special is that every apartment features ocean or hinterland views. Spacious floor plans along with high attention to detail make these apartments perfect for either long or short term tenants, appealing to both owner-occupiers and investors.”

Latest figures released from the Australian Bureau of Statistics highlight the underlying strength in population growth across Australia. The country is currently holding close to the fastest population growth in 40 years and history shows, strong population growth soon translates into pressure on housing.

“Currently, our buyers include first-time homeowners and owner-occupiers who are looking for a property to call home, but also savvy investors from Cairns and across Australia snapping up these apartments as a sound investment for the future.”

Prices start from $465,000 in Vision with a range of two and three bedroom apartments to choose from, some with a separate study. Open for inspection Saturday and Sunday, 12:30-2:00pm, 114 Abbott Street Cairns.
