Beachfront bargains snapped up
January 27, 2011
Luxury beachfront apartments, ‘White Shells in Marcoola’ is following the retailer trend of massively discounted January sales and is reaping the rewards with four sales since Christmas and a flurry of enquiries.
The apartments have been discounted by tens of thousands of dollars and while Terry Taylor of Which Property? believes it to be unprecedented he acknowledges that this is an indication of where the Coasts’ property market finds itself.
“This is an opportunity for buyers to purchase beachfront apartments with state-of-the-art designs and fittings at a massively discounted price and the spike in sales we have had in the past month demonstrates there are hungry buyers looking for bargains on the Coast,” said Terry, Sunshine Coast Director at Which Property?.
“The luxury end of the market is really bearing the brunt of the property slump which will be further impacted by recent floods so developers are looking to move more expensive stock fast in order to fund new projects that might better suit the current market conditions. It’s tough out there for sellers but presents outstanding buying opportunities when you consider the future value of absolute beachfront properties such as White Shells, which can never be built out.”
While beachside living has traditionally been associated with high rise towers, high population density and compact designs, White Shells is unique because of its large floor plans, the quality of the interior design, the low overall density and the unspoilt nature of the beach.
The apartments boast 9 foot 4 ceilings, fully ducted air conditioning, 9 foot bi-folds onto the main balconies, Gaggenau kitchen appliances, high speed internet access, and innovatively designed storage space including large basement lockable storage with two secure car spaces for every apartment. Apartments have video intercoms and there is CCTV in the development for security and an on-site manager.
All 48 apartments have either a north or east facing aspect. White Shells has four residential levels with lift access to every level and there are three separate entrances into the apartments making living at White Shells much lower density than most apartments. A few apartments have their own private roof top terraces with spas and the podium/ground level apartments each have a private plunge pool. All residents have access to the heated pools and spas, on one of the two spectacular roof top terraces which boast magnificent ocean and Mt Coolum views.
“What most buyers find attractive about White Shells is that the apartments offer the best characteristics of a luxury suburban home with no maintenance, on-site management and exceptional location,” says Terry.
“There is very little in the way of brand new beachfront apartments on the coastal side of the David Low Way especially in such a quiet location which makes White Shells a great investment opportunity for the future. As beachside property runs out, we believe developments in these prime positions will enjoy significant capital growth.”
