2010 Queensland Gymnastics State Championships Results

September 21, 2010

Some of the best gymnasts from across Queensland and beyond congregated in Caloundra this weekend to battle it out for the 2010 Gymnastics Queensland State Clubs Championships, Sunshine Team Challenge and Border Challenge.

The big achievers included Lawnton Academy of Artistic Gymnastics from North Brisbane who were named the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Champion Club and Delta Gymnastics Brisbane who were awarded the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Champion club.

Over 730 gymnasts participated from 45 local and interstate clubs to vie for the titles and Kym Dowdell, Gymnastics Queensland Competitive Events Director was delighted with the display of talent showcased over the four-day event.

“The event was very well supported and provided a great opportunity for young gymnasts to compete against some of our rising stars. Events such as these are fantastic to build awareness of the sport and encourage budding gymnasts to get involved,” said Ms Dowdell.

“Our congratulations go to the gold medallists and we would also like to take the opportunity to thank all the gymnasts who participated in this year’s event.”

This year’s event saw competitors between 8-25 years of age coming from Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and the ACT.
