“Go on, make me an offer” says beachfront developer

17 December 2009

When you’re talking prime beachfront location, luxuriously appointed apartments and pricing below replacement cost, many may wonder what the catch is as the developer of White Shells on Marcoola Beach launches its ‘Make an Offer’ advertising campaign this week.

But it’s thanks to current economic times rather than clever marketing strategies that campaigns such as this succeed in shifting properties, particularly at the higher end of the market.

“While this marketing campaign would have been inconceivable 24 months ago, purchasers are now firmly in the driving seat in setting the benchmark of property pricing – within reason of course” says Terry Taylor, Developer of White Shells.

“We’re seeing a great deal of interest in the apartments but its time to evaluate what the market is prepared to pay to enable us to close the deal. This is unchartered territory for us but we believe current market conditions have turned the tables on most developers.”

The apartments are currently priced between $585,000 – $1,175,000 and boast enormous floorplans of up to 328m ², 9 foot 4 ceilings, Gaggenau kitchen appliances, innovative design, two car spaces and pet friendly.

The advertising campaign declares that no reasonable offer will be refused and Which Property? anticipates interest will be high from bargain hunters – both owner-occupiers and investors alike.

“Market conditions have put buyers in a very strong position and we believe this campaign will recognise this shift in balance and give buyers the power to influence prices while giving us the opportunity to move onto future projects,” said Mr Taylor.

Ends.
