Estia Health Kogarah’s new $25 million aged care home will open its doors to the public this month, and the local community is invited to come and have a look at the purpose-built facility on Saturday, 14 April.

Estia Health CEO and Managing Director Norah Barlow said the company was delighted to showcase the home, which features an in-house hairdressing salon and cinema.

“We spent a number of years planning and building this facility, so it’s great to finally have the opportunity to unveil it to the public,” Mrs Barlow said.

“In addition to the 69 ensuite rooms, the building incorporates a well-stocked library and computer hub, as well as a private dining room available for small gatherings.”

Mrs Barlow said tours would run regularly throughout the open day and guests would have the opportunity to meet the care and lifestyle team.

“There will also be live entertainment and refreshments on offer,” she said.

“The open day presents an opportunity for people considering aged care for themselves or a family member to inspect the accommodation on offer and learn more about the home’s amenities and activities.”

“Many people don’t realise we have registered nurses on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or that nutritious meals are freshly prepared on-site for our residents each day.”

“Our residents are also able to participate in everything from gardening classes and movie nights, so we trust this open day will highlight all those lesser-known offerings and answer any questions.”

Mrs Barlow said registrations were not required in advance, with guests free to visit anytime between 10am and 2pm.

Estia Health Kogarah is one of 68 Estia Health aged care homes across Australia. The company operates 11 homes in the Sydney area alone, including two locally at Bexley and Bankstown.

The open day will be held on Saturday, 14 April between 10am and 2pm at 74-76 Rocky Point Road, Kogarah.
