Gymnasts from across QLD converge for Junior State Championships
Over 750 young gymnasts from across Queensland are preparing for the Gymnastics Queensland Junior State Championships which will see the state’s best young gymnasts compete at the Sleeman Sports Complex Arena in Brisbane from September 25-29.
Competitors, aged between 7 and 17 and hailing from 51 gymnastics clubs across Queensland, will participate in the men’s and women’s disciplines of artistic gymnastics across various divisions.
Kym Dowdell, Gymnastics Queensland Chief Executive Director says the five-day event is a great opportunity for the young up-and-coming gymnasts to compete against one another showcasing the best young talent from across the state.
“Young gymnasts from across Queensland have very few opportunities to compete against the best of the best in their age group so this event is the culmination of 12 months of hard work and offers the chance to take home a much-coveted State title, ” said Ms Dowdell.
“This is a chance to see the stars of the future in action and provides our young gymnasts with the opportunity to learn from one another and gain valuable competition experience.
“We are looking forward to a great event and wish the competitors all the best in their final preparations.”
