Whitaker to share design wisdom with coast

September 19, 2013

Style icon and judge from hit TV series The Block Neale Whitaker will make his way to the Sunshine Coast this month to share the latest trends in home décor and insider tips for stunning interior design.

Mr Whitaker will speak at a special in-store event at the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre’s Domayne store on Thursday, 26 September.

Domayne Maroochydore Homeware and Bedding Franchisee Beck Bartlett said she was excited to have the Belle Editor join acclaimed chef Paul Jurd in presenting at the event.

“Mr Whitaker has a wealth of experience in the design industry, having edited leading magazines including Marie Claire Lifestyle and Vogue Entertaining + Travel,” Ms Bartlett said.

“He brings with him a keen eye for design and awareness of the hottest home-styling trends.”

Ms Bartlett said the free event would take place between 6.00pm and 9.30pm, with canapés and drinks provided.

“We’ll have live music, and will be offering attendees the opportunity to have their dreams analysed by Dream Interpreter Joan Hanger,” Ms Bartlett said.

“Paul Jurd will also be treating guests with a surprise demonstration on the night. Last time he visited, he demonstrated how to set the perfect Christmas-themed table.”

“It’s anyone’s guess what secrets he’ll share this time around.”

Ms Bartlett said event attendees would be provided with exclusive storewide discounts on the night and could go in the draw to win a weekend for two at Byron at Byron Resort and Spa.

“Everyone is welcome to attend; however, we expect the event will prove very popular so RSVPs are essential.”

Maroochydore Homemaker Centre Marketing Manager said while the event would take place during regular late-night shopping hours, there would still be plenty of parking for all shoppers and event attendees.

“The Maroochydore Homemaker Centre incorporates 900 undercover car parks, which certainly takes the stress out of the night,” Ms Ellis said.
