RCQC celebrates completion of Moranbah apartments
October 18, 2013
Queensland-based builder RCQ Construction is celebrating the completion of its first project in the Moranbah area, having just finalised construction of Ludwig Apartments in Bacon Street.
RCQ Construction General Manager Steve Cole said the completion of the project marked a significant milestone for the both the RCQ Construction team and the local community.
“This project is reflective of RCQ Construction’s continued growth across Queensland since it was established over 25 years ago,” Mr Cole said.
“We’ve been building projects in the Sunshine Coast region and more recently in areas like Townsville and Mackay, and we’re delighted to now make our mark in a smaller regional town like Moranbah.“
“As for the local community, Ludwig Apartments brings another 30 residential apartments to Moranbah, catering to the large number of resource industry workers requiring local accommodation,” Mr Cole said.
Reed Property Group Development Manager Brett Robinson said with operations at the Eagle Downs mine set to ramp up next year and roughly 20 other mines already in operation within a 100km radius of Ludwig Apartments, there was likely to be a sustained need for accommodation in the area.
“The Eagle Downs mine alone is predicted to have a 47-year mine life, so it is apparent hundreds of mine workers from this site and many others will require housing in the region over the long-term,” Mr Robinson said.
“Numerous property investors have jumped at the opportunity to secure rental properties in the area that cater for these workers, and we’re pleased to acknowledge that Ludwig Apartments is now sold out, with settlement scheduled for 21 October.”
Ludwig Apartments is comprised of 30 two-bedroom, two bathroom, fully self-contained apartments, as well as ground-level commercial space which also recently sold.
