Spring is here and carnival fever is sweeping the Sunshine Coast ahead of one of the most anticipated events this season. The Sunshine Coast Health Foundation Spring Carnival Gala, proudly sponsored by Coastline BMW, is hotting up to be a sure favourite with over 540 guests expected to attend the event in support of Juvenile Diabetes at the Hyatt Regency Coolum on Friday, September 18.
The event, hosted by Sunrise ‘s Mark Beretta, will bring together business professionals and local personalities from across the coast for an afternoon of fun and festivities featuring the latest in spring racing fashions by Myer as well as auction spectacular like no other in support of this worthy cause.
The event has been fortunate to attracted the kind support and generosity of some of Australia’s leading artists including Kendall Perkins, Mel Brigg, Jan Williamson, Blair McNamara, Raelean Hall and Nick Young, who have all kindly donated a piece of their artwork, some specifically designed and themed for this event, to be auctioned off to help raise much need funds for local children suffering from juvenile diabetes.
Australia currently has one of the highest rates of type one diabetes with around one in 700 Australian children suffering from juvenile diabetes, making it one of the most common serious diseases amongst children an issue which Sunshine Coast Health Foundation Manager, Lisa Rowe believes needs more recognition.
“We are extremely excited about hosting this event which will bring together the fun and colour of carnival racing with the more serious message of the effects diabetes has on young children in our community,“ said Lisa Rowe.
The Spring Carnival event will be filled with loads of colour, glamour and fashion not to mention a few miniature horses and jockey’s on parade as well as a number of incredible prizes to be won.
Travis Schultz, Managing Partner of Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers and Chair of the event organising committee says that he is proud to be involved in this exciting project, which will not only give something back to the local community but also provide a great day of fun and entertainment.
“A not to be missed event, the lunch will showcase the latest Spring fashions, art by some of our nations most respected artists and an auction spectacular like no other to raise much need funds for this worthy cause,” said Travis Schultz.
The Sunshine Coast Health Foundation has committed $1million towards supporting a number of local health care initiatives this year and is overwhelmed by the generous support that they continue to receive from the Sunshine Coast community.
“We hope that this event will help not only those suffering from juvenile diabetes but also generate awareness about this disease in the wider community,” said Lisa Rowe.
