Fundraising art exhibition set to open 4 May

16 April

Event organiser of the Townsville Cultural Fest, Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM is hosting an art exhibition of his own works titled ‘Inspirations of the Unseen’ at the Bleeding Heart Gallery in Ann St, Brisbane. An official opening is being held on the 4 May where people will be encouraged to support the Townsville Cultural Fest by purchasing Daliri’s artwork.

Persian-born Dr Daliri, has had a colourful and diverse upbringing. As a Bahá’í  teenager he fled from religious persecution in Iran, finding peace in India whilst completing his Bachelor of Fine Art and Post Graduate research course in Ceramic Design at Lucknow University. Arriving in Australia in 1984, Dr Daliri now splits his time between Brisbane and Townsville and balances practicing his art and facilitating a number of self awareness and meditation workshops and events that promote peace, harmony and unity both nationally and globally.

“The Townsville Cultural Fest is now in its 18th year and has grown to become the largest community based event of its type in Australia. We have an estimated 85,000 people participating in the event each year with over 400 community groups, associations, clubs and organisations collaborating towards the success of this extraordinary event,” says Dr Daliri.

“My exhibition reflects the cultural diversity that I have experienced in my life and the desire to heal through our hearts. My art exposes the limitations of our minds in penetrating beyond the “seen” world and inspires the heart to engage with the true and mystical existence beyond a physical world.”

“Cultural Fest, with the theme of Unity in Diversity, is also about broadening people’s perceptions and encouraging participation and curiosity in other cultures.  It is therefore only fitting to donate 20% of all sales made to the event.”

“This series of paintings are quite abstract and highly conceptual, depicting the intricate layers and levels that we operate in as human beings. We are all one reality manifested in a diversity of cultures.”

The exhibition will be open from 4 May until 14 May at the Bleeding Heart Gallery, 166 Ann Street, Brisbane. Dr Daliri’s original works will be for sale through the gallery and by silent auction.

Dr Daliri’s commitment and passion for reconciliation and working for peace, social inclusion and unity is a defining motivation of his life.  Dr Daliri’s commitment to national harmony and cohesion was celebrated as one of 40 Australians recognised for their contribution to the community as a People of Australia Ambassador 2012.
