Works will begin this year on the intersection that will enable a second access point to the Stockland Yarrabilba community, with completion expected by mid-2027.
The $20 million connection, supported by $10 million in State Government Residential Activation Fund (RAF) funding and $10 million from Stockland, will provide a new intersection on Waterford-Tamborine Road and provide the additional access into the community via Jimbillunga Drive.
Works on the 2.5 kilometre stretch of Jimbillunga Drive, including the Wentland Avenue extension, are part of a $30 million Stockland-funded project constructed by Golding Contractors and are already well progressed.
This work will link the new intersection with Yarrabilba Drive, completing the second connection onto Waterford Tamborine Road
Stockland Yarrabilba Project Director, Graeme Knox, said the second connection would improve access for thousands of families.
“This is an important milestone not only for Yarrabilba, but for the thousands of families who live, work and study here,” Mr Knox said.
“A second access point will make a significant difference to everyday life – easing congestion so Yarrabilba continues to thrive as one of Queensland’s leading growth areas.
“We welcome the support from the State Government to bring this project forward. We are collaborating with all levels of government to deliver the infrastructure needed to support population growth and unlock future housing supply in South East Queensland.
Yarrabilba was designated a Priority Development Area in 2009 and has grown rapidly over the past decade. The community is already home to more than 15,000 residents.
The new connection forms part of Stockland’s wider infrastructure investment across South East Queensland, supporting housing affordability and liveability while helping to meet the state’s target of one million new homes by 2044.[1]
With house and land packages from $710,000 and land lots starting at $371,900, Yarrabilba remains one of the few places in South East Queensland where lifestyle and location are still within reach. For more information, visit: https://www.stockland.com.au/residential/qld/yarrabilba
