Local business owners and operators will come together at the Maroochy Surf Club on Tuesday, 14 June to hear the latest from a range of high profile speakers regarding the economic drivers that underpin commercial investment in the region.
The lunch event – hosted by the Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce – will include presentations from Urbis Director Malcolm Aikman, SunCentral CEO John Knaggs and Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson.
Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce President Troy Deighton said as the event’s keynote speaker, Mr Aikman would provide a commercial snapshot of the Sunshine Coast, outlining forecast growth, general business and commercial conditions and business confidence levels.
“Mr Aikman will also take a more in-depth look at the status of commercial office space on the Coast, covering vacancy rates, current and future stock as well as the role that the new SunCentral development will have in the overall commercial office market.”
“There is no doubt the Maroochydore city centre will have long-term impacts on the state of business in both Maroochydore and the broader Sunshine Coast region for many years to come, so this is one event local business owners should not miss.”
Mr Deighton said in addition to the keynote presentation from the independent economics and research consulting firm, he also looked forward to an update on the SunCentral project.
“John Knaggs will detail what can be expected onsite now works are well underway, what the CBD development means for the business community, and what opportunities it presents for existing and new business on the Coast.”
Also taking to the stage is Mayor Mark Jamieson who will share his vision for conducting business and growing the Sunshine Coast economy in the future.
“Mayor Jamieson will touch on the game-changer projects fueling growth in the region, share why this is the right time for businesses to invest on the Coast and indicate how the existing business community can capitalise on current and future opportunities,” Mr Deighton said.
