Residents of Beerwah and surrounding communities will soon have access to comprehensive primary healthcare services with Cornerstone Group turning the sod at the $18 million Beerwah Health Hub today.
Located in the heart of the township, the 4,000sqm Beerwah Health Hub will cater to the growing needs of the regional community, providing both a range of primary healthcare services including general practice, allied health, dental, optometry and radiology as well as a childcare centre.

Cornerstone Group Director Simon Heazlewood said he was excited to break ground on the project that will deliver 50 jobs during construction and employ a further 50 staff at the facility once complete.
“We’re thrilled to be commencing construction on the Beerwah Health Hub, as we seek to address the needs of this growing and emerging region that, to date has been underserviced in regards to quality primary healthcare,” Mr Heazlewood said.

“Beerwah is strategically located between North Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast in an area where we are seeing tremendous growth. Our new Health Hub is primed to bring high-quality services to the Beerwah community, Glass House Mountains, Landsborough and other surrounding hinterland towns, as well as the emerging residential communities of Beerwah East, Aura and Caloundra South.

“We believe that everyone — regardless of where they live — deserves access to quality healthcare and childcare and we’re on track to deliver, with approximately 70 per cent of the space pre-committed for lease, including our anchor tenants, MyLocalDoc and Happy Hearts Child Care.

“On the first floor, the comprehensive childcare centre will accommodate up to 105 children and will enjoy 720sqm of expertly designed outdoor playscape.

“MyLocalDoc, an established GP practice in Beerwah with an unrivalled reputation for quality primary healthcare, has secured 500sqm on the ground floor, leaving a further 1,000sqm allocated to range of aligned health care, retail and café services on ground floor.

Ben Child Managing Director of MyLocalDoc, said the team was excited at the prospect of opening its doors at the new state-of-the-art development.

“Our new practice will enable us to provide a larger offering of general practice services including two procedure rooms, increased space of treatment rooms and nursing services,” Mr Child said.
“This will also allow us to welcome more doctors to work in this facility including other integrated services such as allied health and skin specialists.

“We hugely value being part of this regional community and are excited to work at a greater capacity to promote the best possible health and well-being outcomes for our patients.”

Federal Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace MP attended today’s sod-turn event and said he was delighted to see a local South East Queensland, family owned business, making such a strong investment in Beerwah.

“In addition to providing 100 jobs during and after construction and improved access to medical services, I’m also delighted to learn that Happy Hearts Child Care will offer more than 100 new places for children from this region,” Mr Wallace said.

“We are all aware of the critical skills shortages we are experiencing in the region and access to reliable, quality childcare will help unlock new opportunities for skilled workers and make the Coast hinterland the place to be for employment.

“I will always back small and family business in Fisher and I am excited to see this unique development come out of the ground today, developed by locals, for locals.”

Beerwah Health Hub marks the start of Cornerstone Group’s sixth healthcare development, in addition to Chermside Health Hub, North Lakes Specialists Medical Centre and Moreton Health Hub in Queensland; Canberra Specialist Medical Centre in ACT and Nepean Health Hub in Penrith, New South Wales.

Specialising in award-winning integrated healthcare facilities, Cornerstone Group has a pipeline of five new healthcare developments on the east coast, including a health hub on Bribie Island, due to commence in the coming months.

Construction is expected to be completed on the Beerwah Health Hub by the end of 2023.
